Like ants burrowing tunnels, Paul could feel it beneath his skin, spreading. Vincent sat in the driver seat turning up the volume on tape 5 of a 12 step self help to anger management box set. With white knuckles gripping the wheel, temples pounding, veins popping, teeth grinding; Vincent never felt so relaxed.  Tad has grown used to seeing that look in Vincent's eyes. He knew the man meant well, however, some men carry a deep hatred that remains unresolved to the bitter end. "How you doing back there Maya?"

"We're all out of Proxitol," she was injecting what was left of it into an arm the color of a decaying rainbow. "Tell Vic to hurry," Vincent's eyes were ready to pop out of his head.

"I think you can tell him yourself," Tad just wanted to get this day over with. Behind Maya, Paul's multi-colored surface turned an ashy black. A pale green puss bubbled like peroxide from the holes in his arms where the drug had been administered, as if rejecting the un-prescribed medical treatment. Tad really wished he hadn't seen that. "Hey Doc, might want to take a look at your patient."

Maya spun around to get punched in the stomach by something unseen, knocking her off-balance. "Lysanna," she had been found and judging by the life deserted from Paul's face, the transformation was complete. She fumbled for a weapon as his flesh peeled back, snapping away like the latex of a popped balloon stretched over a molten tar, bubbling and boiling, forming itself into the shape of a melted man, illuminating as new life is born.

With only a moment to spare Maya drew her blade when the van suddenly began to cartwheel. Before landing in a massive heap of twisted metal, Maya caught a glimpse of the monstrosity, her nephew, leap from a shattered window. A glimpse no sane mind could suffer. After determining three sets of lungs breathing did she finally speak, "What the hell Vic?"

"A little girl. There was a little girl in the road." Vincent sat repeating himself as the other two crawled out of the totaled vehicle.

"I seen her, she was right over there," Tad pointed out the spot to Maya.

"There was no little girl, just a sibling rivalry," she couldn't keep anymore secrets. That thing was out there and only they had the power to stop it.
